Flat faces and straight edge strips for box-up letters

Making box-up letters starts with a clear parts plan. The flat letter face defines the visible outline; the side or return is a separate component in the fabrication process. These are components for your workshop to fabricate. A straight strip still needs the appropriate shaping and assembly for the finished letter. Confirm bending, welding, finishing, supports and installation with the team responsible for those stages. Ordering a cut face and strips does not by itself specify a complete assembled sign.

Prepare a vector PDF or PDF-compatible Illustrator file with lettering converted to outlines. Keep all required cutting paths inside the artboard. Confirm the finished width and height, drawing scale and number of each letter before uploading.

A letter such as B has an outside boundary and two internal openings. The person fabricating it must plan the sides around those openings as well as the outside. Do not estimate the required strip length from the overall word width alone. Keep the approved artwork and fabrication requirements together when checking the quotation.

Choose the material specified for your fabrication plan. Catalogue options include EG 0.9 mm, aluminium 2 mm and stainless steel options. Select the exact available thickness and finish in the platform; a similar-looking metal in a photograph is not enough to confirm its specification.

For matching straight edge strips, review the available option and the required strip dimensions and quantity. Check compatibility with the face material and intended finish. If you need a particular return depth or fabrication allowance, confirm it with your fabricator before ordering. For hairline material, check the required grain direction too.

Sheet size is not the maximum finished-part size: margins and the usable cutting area still apply. Confirm that every connected face fits the selected sheet. Split an oversized design into suitable components before uploading.

原板尺寸并非成品最大尺寸，仍需考虑板边及实际可切割范围。确认每个连续字面能放入所选板材。超大的设计请在上传前拆分成合适部件。

Register or sign in, upload your prepared artwork, select material and confirm dimensions and quantities. Add the straight edge strip option where available, then calculate and review the quotation. Compare the preview with the approved artwork, especially internal openings and separate parts.
